What’s something you’d love every couple to know about wedding photography?
That the price they pay for their photography is not just for one day – it’s also the weeks of work that come after to bring you the very best shots.
What should couples keep in mind when planning this part of their wedding?
I think it’s important to decide what style of photography you like and then find a photographer based on that.
How would you describe your photography style?
I like to shoot in a more casual, documentary form, while being creative with my shots. I’m inspired by beautiful light, golden tones, moody skies and the interactions between two people in love.
What do your couples say they love most about what you do?
That I’m not loud and in their faces. They hardly know I’m there, but I get all the shots they want!
What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?
I studied fine art and graphic design at university and worked as a designer for many years. I’ve also had my fair share of time in front of the camera as a commercial, lifestyle and bridal model. It was the combination of these creative jobs that lead me to photography.
How do you create a great experience for your couples?
I like to make my couples feel relaxed and comfortable around me, like I’m more of a friend.
What’s your best advice for couples planning their wedding right now?
1. Of course it’s important to stick to budget, but don’t just choose the cheapest wedding dress, photographer or venue. Think about your style and what’s really ‘you’.
2. Try not to get too stressed out with all the planning. Remember at the end of the day, the most import thing is that you’re marrying the person you love.
3. Your wedding doesn’t have to cost a fortune to be amazing!
