Five Minutes With…
What’s something you’d love every couple to know about wedding photography?
How important light is in achieving the most beautiful and flattering images.
What should couples keep in mind when planning this part of their wedding?
Schedule and timing are key. If you want the most romantic light for your couple photos, we always recommend saving golden hour (the last hour or so leading up to sunset) for this and then working out the rest of your schedule accordingly.
What do your couples say they love most about what you do?
The beautiful, natural expressions we capture and being able to help them feel totally relaxed in front of the camera.
What’s one popular question you get from your couples and how do you answer it?
Probably 95% of our couples on meeting them for the first time have said, ‘We don’t like photos of ourselves normally and feel really awkward in front of the camera, will you still be able to get natural shots of us?” And the answer is always a big yes!
What’s your best advice for couples planning their wedding photography?
1. Right at the start, be open with your photographer about the kind of shots you love and that are most important to you.
2. Ask your photographer for help in scheduling the day before your ceremony and reception times are set and invites are ordered.
3. Be sure to allow enough time on the day for photos of just the two of you. While your photographer can click that shutter really fast and take lots of beautiful photos with ten minutes available, the reason we highly recommend allowing 30-60 minutes if possible is so that you can totally relax and just enjoy that precious time as newlyweds. The warm and playful expressions that occur naturally during this time are always our favourites.

We (Amanda and Michael) are a couple of light-chasing lovebirds who thrive on couple shoots and became hooked on weddings after the first one we photographed together. The exhilaration, emotion, love, happiness, laughter, romance, quirky characters, crazy dancing and beautiful details – a perfect canvas for our creativity to paint free.
Our approach is fun and relaxed, but we balance that with a little direction during portraits to help couples feel totally comfortable and unleash that inner personality and natural chemistry. We have been privileged to photograph some pretty epic love stories and meet some awesome friends along the way!
A Retro Country Wedding – “We could not recommend these two enough! Whether it be helping you calm your nerves in the morning or acting out poses together, they were superstars on our wedding day. They captured our love for each other and the fun and happiness of the day so perfectly.”
