High school sweethearts Claire and Josh wanted their wedding day to be about bringing family and friends together to celebrate, and they did it in true country style! We love the rustic DIY details, pretty native flowers and Claire’s gorgeous lace two-piece gown.
The Planning Experience
“It was very exciting during the planning process, talking about ideas. I got a lot out of all the DIY projects – making our own invitations, decorations, boutonnieres, guest presents, children’s packs and photo booth.”
Finding The Dress
“I didn’t try on any dresses – I spent lots of time researching styles I liked and generally vintage styles. I came across some two piece dresses that I liked online and found a beautiful and affordable lace from Cleggs in Melbourne. A friend had referred me to a local dressmaker and it just evolved from there.”
Venue Styling
“The venue was beautiful enough that we didn’t need to do much styling. Flowers on the tables, bunting and material made from recycled fabric.”
Best Advice
1. Take the time to enjoy the day and delegate jobs to others – they want to help.
2. Have a realistic budget and stick to it.
