Rachael and Jacob’s rustic boho wedding takes place at a stunning vineyard – one look at the tunnel of jasmine and roses forming their aisle and you’ll see why this venue was on their wedding wish list! Pastel pink bouquets, elegant bridal party styling and a divine fitted lace gown are a taste of what awaits.
Proposal Story
“When we were travelling Europe together, Jacob took me to Wales, back to where his parents were married and the mountain that he used to play on as a child. As we got to the top of the mountain to take in the views, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Just as I said yes, a family of deer ran through the trees next to us – it was a surreal moment.”
The Planning Experience
“We both loved the wedding planning process. Jacob enjoyed bringing together the people we value most in our lives and least enjoyed waiting for the big day to come around! I loved putting together a vision I had for the day and seeing it come to life – I wanted to cherish every part of it as it would be over before we knew it.”
The Venue
“Laurance Estate was at the top of our list as we had been on a wine tour there and fell in love with the venue. I had even thrown a coin in the wishing well with the wish that we would marry there one day.”
Bridesmaid Styling
“For the bridesmaids I wanted to make sure that the dress would be something they could wear again. I looked online at BHLDN and found the outfit for them. The top and the skirt fit perfectly with our wedding style.”
Finding the Dress
“I only went to two places – I took my mum, dad and sister to the second boutique. The owner was so lovely and helpful, I tried on quite a few dresses and we had a lot of fun with it. When I put on the Fox gown it fit perfectly and was simply stunning. I knew it was the one by the look on my family’s faces and how I felt in the dress. I never thought I would wear a strapless wedding dress, but it was so beautiful and the lace was very special.”
Meaningful Music
Processional: “Together” by Brandon & Leah
First dance: “I Ain’t Got You” by James Bay
Father daughter dance: “Thank you” by Reuben Koops
Reception Styling
“Our reception had a rustic theme, styled in wood tones with hints of light pink. I bought all of my decorations through various vendors and put it together for the reception. When I walked into the venue it was exactly as I had imagined. Rachael at Eventier did such a great job in following what I had asked and making it special.”
DIY Projects
“My mum and I made all of the soy candles for the tables – it only took us around an hour. I also organised each table with all of the decorations in boxes so the set up was easy. We put together a Polaroid corner for the wedding reception so we now have an album of everyone who attended our wedding. My Grandma made a traditional Sri Lankan Love Cake for the wedding favours – something my sisters and I have all had.”
Best Advice
1. Make sure you listen to what you and your partner want – the day is about the two of you.
2. Take time on the day to be with one another without anyone else, as the day does go by quickly.
3. Lastly, just have fun with the planning. It’s meant to be enjoyable, not stressful.
