The Planning Experience

“We wanted a very relaxed wedding with few formalities, in a beautiful setting with fantastic food and wine. After quite a few weekends of hunting we found our venue and it was perfect! We wanted a winter wedding and they had one space left so we booked on the spot. After that, everything just fell into place. We enjoyed the whole process.”

The Ceremony

“We decided to go very simple as the venue was so stunning we didn’t want to take away from that. We had white Tiffany chairs and a small wooden arbour decorated with flowers. We had such a fun ceremony. Our celebrant did a fantastic job making it so personal. She had all our guests laughing and crying and really set the scene for our whole wedding.”

Personal Touches

“Every part of the wedding was personal, but the most special part was a small charm with a picture of my dad that Mum organised for me to tie around my flowers. Dad passed away just over a year ago, so it was really special that I still had him with me as I walked down the aisle.”

Reception Styling

“We organised all the decorations for our reception ourselves. We had two very long raw wooden tables running down the barn which were decorated with gum leaves, Baby’s Breath and candles. Natural paper name tags were wrapped around white napkins. I made all three of my wedding cakes and our wedding favours were handmade chocolate fudge and pistachio praline treats from my mum. The barn was already so beautiful so we really didn’t need to do much at all.”

Best Advice

1. Don’t stress about the small things – the day goes too fast to notice.

2. If people offer to help out, just say yes!

3. On the big day, take a moment to step away with your partner, look back and just take it all in.
