With showrooms in Sydney and Melbourne, Oscar Hunt helps grooms and groomsmen suit up for the wedding with their personalised made-to-measure service. Whatever your style, their experienced consultants and extensive design options will ensure you make your mark with a perfectly tailored look!
What’s something you’d love every couple to know about custom suiting?
Having a suit made is not as difficult or expensive as you might think. By the time you find something off-the-rack and have it adjusted, you may as well have had a suit tailored! That way, you have something that has been designed specifically for your requirements. It’s also a lot of fun having a suit made just for you.
What are people often surprised to learn?
How easy and stress-free the process is. Our fitters are experts in their craft and help guide our clients through all of the different fabric and design options to ensure each suit is perfect for the person and occasion. Very often our fitters will point out things our clients didn’t know, resulting in a much better outcome than shopping off-the-rack.
What do your clients say they love most about what you do?
The service. We do everything we can to make sure our couples receive the perfect wedding look whilst having a great time. From our experienced team, to our private fitting rooms and well-stocked bar – everything about Oscar Hunt is designed with the client in mind.
How does the made-to-measure experience work?
We have over 2,000 different fabrics to choose from in varying weights, compositions, colours and patterns. Whether you’re looking for a classically-styled dinner suit for a more traditional celebration, or a light-weight linen jacket and trouser for a tropical destination wedding, we run one-on-one consultations throughout the week to help you find your ideal wedding look.
What’s one popular question you get about choosing suits for the wedding?
Matching the groom and groomsmen. You don’t necessarily have to be matchy-matchy, the important thing is that the overall colour palette works. Often couples get caught up in trying to match a pocket square with the bridesmaid dresses for example. The fit of the suits will always be the strongest statement, followed by colours that work well with each other. From there, the smaller details are the easy part.
What’s your best advice for couples organising their wedding suiting?
1. Make sure the suit is crease-free and on a good hanger the night before.
2. Consider a second shirt for the day if it’s a summer wedding or there’s going to be some serious dancing!
