Something magical happens when a natural space is transformed for a celebration, and Bonnie-Lee and Dan’s beautiful boho wedding is no exception! Featuring a macramé ceremony arbour, vibrant florals, stylish bridal party and relaxed picnic reception, soak up the atmosphere and relish in the details of this stunning day.
Love Story
“Dan and I grew up together in a small town – I always had my eye on him as the young, surfy, chilled dude with a smile that could light up the world! We have a million memories together, with the most special one being welcoming our baby boy almost two years ago. After our first year of parenting, we took a quick getaway to enjoy some ‘island life’ in Bali. On a secluded beach in Bingin, Dan got out his phone and showed me a picture of our son holding up a sign asking ‘Mummy to marry his daddy’ – while filming the whole thing on his Go Pro!”
Ceremony Space
A simple wooden ceremony arbour was transformed with a macramé backdrop and floral garland. Pairing it with white bench seats and an aisle lined with petals suited the rustic setting perfectly!
The Planning Experience
“There’s not one thing I didn’t like about planning our wedding. It was very ‘us’, so everything we chose reflected our style, love and relaxed nature. I wanted to make sure it stayed true to our values and that everyone, including ourselves, had an amazing time filled with fun, laughter and lots of food and dancing.”
Bridesmaid Styling
“I gave the girls a simple brief: choose your own dress in pink, blush or beige. It couldn’t have turned out better if I tried!”
Entertaining Guests
“I didn’t want the day to be about having to entertain our guests – it was about two families becoming one and I wanted everyone to enjoy each other’s company. The music, dancing and picnic blanket areas certainly helped with that.”
Reception Decor
An eclectic mix of scattered rugs, cushions, tables and seating helped create an informal, relaxed atmosphere for the reception, with suspended floral arrangements, festoon lighting and large brass lanterns adding romantic charm.
Favourite Moments
“My favourite moment would be when Dan and I went to get our photos. We hadn’t seen each other for four days leading up to the wedding, so it was the first time we got a moment alone. Our videographer and photographer were with us, but they weren’t intrusive – they let us enjoy the simple moments, the ones that we will remember for the rest of our life.”
Team Effort
“All of my vendors went above and beyond for me. I’ve worked with most of them before on other projects, so pulling together a team of incredible and inspiring women to be a part of our day made it so much more special. Each of them added their personal touches and reflected my style in their work – it wouldn’t have been the same without the love they put into it.”
