Zoe and Josh’s lovely green and white wedding is a modern classic, with Zoe’s chic gown a show stopper! After their traditional ceremony, this stylish couple made the most of their harbour front reception venue, adding lashings of white roses, elegant hand painted signs and romantic lighting.
The Planning Experience
“It was very hard in the beginning as I really didn’t know where to start! I was lucky to have a few family and friends who had already been married and gave me some of their contacts. There were some stressful times when some suppliers I had enquired with were already booked, especially hair and makeup! I found every spare second I had I was researching suppliers – so much research it’s overwhelming!”
Finding The Dress
“It was pretty easy I must say! I went to about three locations and the third was a hit! I found a dress the designer made previously and based the style on that.”
Favourite Moments
“I loved getting ready the morning of the wedding, and putting my wedding dress on! Of course my and Josh’s favourite moment was walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time. I did tear up though, which is no surprise for me!”
Bridal Party Styling
“I knew from the beginning I wanted the bridesmaids to wear white dresses. The dress I chose fit the girls perfectly! Their hair was up in a loose bun, and I had bought the girls pearl earrings. Josh chose the type of suit and colour – a light blue, which went perfectly with the white bridesmaid dresses!”
Meaningful Music
“Our first dance song ‘Chasing Cars’ by Snow Patrol. We both love it and it was the only one we agreed on! And our reception entrance song, ‘Under Control’ by Calvin Harris. This took us a while to decide, but we both love his music and listening to it together!”
Reception Styling
“The theme included white flowers, lots of greenery and gold, with a slight rustic feel with the brown bentwood chairs supplied by the venue, the wooden pillars and exposed ceiling. We hired letter lights from Sammy and Lola, and the florist beautifully decorated them with florals. I found a bargain on eBay for our wishing well – a white, rustic birdcage for guests to put cards in.”
Most Important
“Definitely the reception venue. We had two venues that stood out to us from the beginning, but we went with this venue as you can’t beat that amazing view of the Harbour Bridge! Also that everything I had planned came together and looked uniform!”
