After two years of holidays and good times together, Kendelle and Ben embarked on their next big adventure – the arrival of their son Carter. They planned their black and white urban wedding as a simple, fun affair that celebrated their love and family, featuring stylish gowns, courtyard dining and beautiful festoon lighting.

The Planning Experience

“Planning the wedding was a lot of fun – a little stressful in the last few weeks, but I tried to make it as enjoyable as possible.”

Finding The Dress

“My first stop was at Pallas Couture – I tried on a beautiful dress and knew it was the style I wanted. Bec was so amazing and showed me a sketch of something they were working on. It was perfect and I couldn’t wait to see a sample of it a few months later. Pallas made the experience very personal and seamless – it was a lot of fun watching it come together and to see the finished gown.”

Meaningful Music

“I walked down the aisle to, ‘Angels’ by The XX, which Ben had said reminded him of me when we first met. I thought I could surprise him with the song choice but he knows me too well!”

Favourite Moments

“Watching our son walk down the aisle before me and Ben’s face light up. Dancing all night long until Lamont’s closed and we had to leave. And there was a bit of a karaoke-off which was hilarious and so much fun!”

Bridal Party Styling

“I found a dress that I really loved and would want to wear and used it for the bridesmaid dresses. I knew it would be hot so I wanted something the girls would be comfortable in. For the boys, we matched the colour of the suits to Ben’s and gave them a tie to make Ben’s bow tie stand out.”

Most Important

“Making sure everyone had a great time. That the food was delicious and plentiful and the champagne was flowing. We just wanted to have a really great party with the important people in our lives.”

Wedding Styling

“The best thing about Lamont’s is the beautiful green gardens and rose bushes in the courtyard. I didn’t want to take away from what was already there, so I just added a few pieces to show our personality. The festoon lights and arbour with pendants made the outdoor reception more romantic and special.”

Entertaining Guests

“Knowing it would be hot we organised snow cones for right after the ceremony which everyone really enjoyed. We also had an awesome DJ that made the night so much fun.”
