The Planning Experience

“It was so easy as we wanted to keep it simple and our parents were very helpful. Pretty much everything was DIY – Luke made our wedding arch and I bought all the fabrics and decorations locally. The best part of the whole experience was finding my wedding dress at a boutique in Paris. Less enjoyable was having our bridal party all living in different states, which made it harder to have them involved.”

Ceremony Styling

“We had the ceremony at St Christopher’s Chapel where Luke’s parents were married. We kept it very organic with a raw wooden arch draped in chiffon, styled with greenery and pillar candles.”

Most Important

“Not letting it go overboard. Keeping each other happy and heaps of compromise. It was also really important that we kept the quality of all the details really high without going over budget.”

Bridal Party Styling

“We gave them a guideline for style and colour and let them pick their own dresses and suits. For the bridesmaids it was white or cream with a plunging neckline to match my dress, and for the groomsmen it was a classic black and white slim-fit suit.”

Best Advice

1. Don’t let anyone shoot down your ideas. If you have your heart set on something – just do it!

2. Enjoy the day – don’t let little things stress you.

3. Don’t invite anyone because you feel like you have to. We kept it strictly to our closest friends and family and wouldn’t have had it any other way.
