Equal parts boho and modern, this vibrant celebration in a lush tropical hideaway is oh so chic! Sinead and Chris focused on keeping things simple for their wedding day, planning stylish outfits for their bridal party, live entertainment that would get everyone up and dancing and an outdoor reception illuminated by an amazing display of festoons.
Finding the Dress
“I wanted a super simple dress and the first shopping experience I went to about six shops, but couldn’t find anything that was ‘me’. Eventually I met a designer who I clicked with instantly and we designed my own custom dress. The first sketch was pretty much how the dress turned out – I really trusted Luom and listened to her guidance, so there was no need for changes. It was the most comfortable dress and everything I wanted.”
The Ceremony
A wide aisle frames the panoramic backdrop, allowing Sinead and Chris’ guests and photographer an uninterrupted view of those special ceremony moments!
Bridal Party Style
“Styling the bridesmaids was easy. I really wanted them to be in a crazy pattern so my white dress stood out more, and the tropical print we ended up finding worked really well with the venue. Chris had the idea of customising the jacket sleeves for the boys by putting the pattern on the elbow patches, which we loved the look of!”
Most Important
“The most important aspect of the wedding for me was the band. I wanted them to be versatile enough to sing current songs and old RnB – ‘Return of the Mack’ and ‘Pony’ are very necessary at a wedding! Our band made the wedding as amazing as it was with an awesome mix of songs which got the guests on the dance floor all night.”
Reception Decor
A magical dining atmosphere was created for the reception with long tables set beneath low hanging festoons. “I just wanted simple white furniture with a touch of elegance to emphasise the natural greenery. I really wanted the venue and the lighting to be the biggest feature.”
Best Advice
1. On the day, let it go! Nothing matters so long as you and your partner are there – that’s all you need.
2. On the night, take a few minutes to overlook all the people that are there for you both. Take in the moment and appreciate the whole experience as it’s quite surreal.
3. Just enjoy yourself and do what you and your partner want to do. If you feel like sitting and chatting, do it. If you feel like dancing all night, do it!
